Firing 700 rounds through an AK seems a fitting tribute to the late Mikhail Kalashnikov and his ever-reliable design. But will the gun used in this test catch on fire, melt or ultimately triumph? Watch the video and find out.

Awesome video tribute to a design genius. I figured it would last the 700 but was still hoping to see some more flames. Curious, what lube did you use? The original recipe? And I wonder how far a little Frog Lube would have gone. But I really think the hand guards were the smokers here as I hardly saw any smoke directly out of the barrel. And I kind of cringed when you dunked it into the puddle, figuring the barrel might get warped.
