The New Guns And Gear:

FoldAR Remnant

foldar

Looking to stow big firepower in a small space? FoldAR has you covered with the Remnant. Available in 5.56 NATO, .300 BLK and 7.62x39mm, the Remnant can be rapidly deployed in less than 4 seconds by unfolding the barrel assembly and locking it back into the receiver. It’s available with either a 7.5- or 10.5-inch barrel, as either an SBR with a Maxim SCW stock or as a pistol with a Maxim SCW brace. Either way, when folded, the package has an overall length of less than 12 inches. I don’t think ARs get more compact than this.
MSRP: Starts at $2,700

White Label Armory Party Popper

There are tons of new cans on the market these days, and one new lineup is from White Label Armory. There are a few different models in the family, but here we’re highlighting the Party Popper. This .22-caliber suppressor is made from Grade 5 titanium using additive manufacturing and features a Cerakote finish. Most excitingly, the little guy comes in at only 3 inches long and 1.7 ounces. It’s ready to deliver portable, quiet performance on .22 rifles and pistols … and the Party Popper does it at an affordable price for a titanium can.

Lipsey’s Exclusive Ruger RXM COA

Many people are saying that Aimpoint’s COA red-dot is the new gold standard when it comes to pistol optics. Part of the reason why is that it uses the very clever A-CUT mounting system; the only hitch is that it’s proprietary, so you can’t just slap a COA on any optics-ready pistol. Thankfully, more handgun models are becoming available with it, and one of the latest is the Ruger RXM as a Lipsey’s exclusive. It’s available with a black, gray or ODG Magpul grip module in either a standard or full-size configuration, and each pistol ships with a pre-installed COA red dot and co-witness height sights (tritium front sight and drift-adjustable steel rear sight). If you’ve been wanting a Ruger RXM, this is probably the best version currently available.

Viridian MDS35 Modern Dot Sight

Viridian says that the MDS35 has a “game-changing field of view,” and with its 36x36mm lens, it’s hard to argue that. The optic is always on and has an advertised battery life of 30,000 hours with eight visible brightness levels and two night-vision levels, but its reticle is more than a simple dot. It features three primary green subtension dots for direct-hold shooting as well as two low-profile ranging chevrons on the sides. This design should enable fast target acquisition and accurate shooting from CQB distances all the way out to 500 yards with the proper rifle setup. It uses an Aimpoint T2 footprint and ships with a co-witness Picatinny riser.

Vortex Strike Eagle 1-10x24mm FFP

If you need a versatile, compact LPVO that offers speed at close quarters and precision at long ranges, the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-10x24mm FFP is worth a look. It features a 1-10 magnification range and an illuminated EBR-8 BDC first focal plane reticle that’s available in both MOA and MRAD flavors, and it uses motion sense technology to automatically shut off after 10 minutes to preserve battery life. Despite its rugged construction, the Strike Eagle is also lightweight at 21.6 ounces, and its 10-inch overall length helps preserve precious rail space for other accessories. Each scope ships with two flip-up protective lens caps, a throw lever for quick magnification adjustments and a 2-inch sunshade.

Steiner MPS-C

Most would agree that enclosed optics are the way forward with pistol red-dots, so the more options shooters have to choose from, the better. One of the latest is the MPS-C from Steiner, and it looks very promising. While it features the same proven internal design as Steiner’s original MPS enclosed pistol optic, the MPS-C is compact and designed for use with small, concealed carry pistols. It measures just 1.46 by 1.27 by 1.08 inches and has a weight of only 1.13 ounces. It has a 1.6-MOA red dot for a reticle and has 12 manually adjustable brightness settings, including 10 daylight and two for use with night vision. Powered by a CR1632 battery, it offers up to 46,125 hours on the lowest setting, further prolonged by its shake-awake feature. Finally, for maximum compatibility with carry pistols, it mounts using an RMSc footprint.

SilencerCo Spectre 9

If you need proof of just how popular 9mm PCCs and subguns are becoming, look no further than the number of dedicated 9mm suppressors that have been released for them lately. One of the newest is the Spectre 9 from SilencerCo. Made entirely from titanium, this bad boy is super lightweight at just 3.9 ounces, and it’s compact too with a length of only 4.76 inches. Despite its small size, the Spectre 9 is full-auto rated for supersonic 9mm, subsonic 9mm and subsonic .300 BLK. For supersonic .300 BLK, it’s semi-auto rated only. It uses SilencerCo’s Alpha-pattern mounting system and ships with a tool and a Spectre Piston Housing Assembly for use on traditional semi-auto pistols, too.
