Browning X-Bolt Pro
This rifle drew about as much attention as anything at the show in 2017. All the X-Bolt rifles are very good, but the Pro is a standout. It shares the same three-lug bolt design, short bolt lift, tang safety, and separate bolt release/safety that you’ll find on other X-Bolt models, but the Pro comes with a sleek carbon fiber stock with foam inserts, and the action, stock exterior and barrel have all been treated with a Cerakote burnt bronze finish. There’s a removable muzzle brake, and the oversized bolt handle comes with decorative spiral cutouts. Available chamberings include 6.5 Creedmoor, .308, .30-06, and .300 Winchester Magnum. Weights vary from 6.1-6.9 pounds. The X-Bolt Pro isn’t a custom rifle, but it’s darn close. ($1,999.99; Browning.com)
