I give my guns a light cleaning after each use and a complete cleaning at the end of the season.
A persons weapon is an extension of themselves and they should know everything they possible can about that weapon. The proper cleaning of a weapon is the first basic step of learning about firearms and I would wish to learn more about it. I clean my shotgun after each session of using it but it is a basic cleaning as I have never had a proper mentor to show me how to fully clean it.
Looking into buying my first shotgun. So I think it would be nice to start off with a book detailing cleaning and maintenance on the firearm. Enter me in the drawing!
I clean my firearm everytime im done shooting.
I shoot skeet and trap weekly.I field clean the barrel with cleaning rod and wipe the shot gun with wiping cloth.latter will clean complete gun with solvent.
Clean it every time I shoot it and if it sits for more than 3 months.
I clean my guns after using them and at lest once a month if not used. I would love to win the book, it will be a well loved book.
I clean it when I use it!
I would love to win because I have never taken a shotgun apart and cleaned without assistance and I have a couple (one special because it was my grandfather’s) that need a complete cleaning due to a housefire and smoke exposure.
i’ld love to get this book since i haven’t taken my shotgun down in forever
Every gun/shotgun should be cleaned after each shooting session. A complete teardown and detail cleaning at least once a year or more.
I clean my 870 after evert use.
I would really like to win his book. I have a shotgun that I cannot put back together. I usually take a shotgun apart after 1,000 rounds.
Just took apart a new acquisition; an 870 Remington in 12 guage. Otherwise, I’ve been lax in cleaning mine. I’d SURE like to win this book, so I could become proficient at disassembly and cleaning of firearms.
Thanks for the opportunity!
My shotguns are completely disassembled and cleaned at least once a year … field stripped and cleaned after each use.
For a true cleaning, I’d say about every-other time that I go out. I don’t shoot that many rounds, so I’m okay with that. However, I make sure that I give the chamber area a good wipe down with a gently oiled rag to get out the loose grit each time I come back.
Hope to win the book as a reference for me, but more so for my mom who now has 3 shotguns!
I need this book
This book would be very valuable, as I am learning gunsmithing and need all the help I can get while learning to work on the differewnt ons.
I have a few old L.C. Smith doubles that I shoot here and there as well as a Browning Citori and a Benelli M3. I try to clean within a day or two of shooting and even if they’re just stored a monthly wipe down with an oily cloth keeps them in shape. I agree with the annual detail strip that ACE mentions. It let’s you catch the occasional broken spring or worn pin before you find yourself in a situation. A good book that shares decades worth of other people’s knowledge is always a good thing to have.
I clean my firearn every time I shoot. Which about once a week. It would be nice not to have to muck around and know what I’m doing. I need a book such as yours to learn more. Thanks
I clean my shotgun after target shooting. If I’m hunting usually once a month. I’ve been spending time with the boys teaching them disassembly and assembly of various firearms and I thought this would be a great addition to that time.
I clean my shotgun(s) after considerable use and or when checking for maintenance issues. I could sure use this manual.
thanks
KS Shooter
Hubby loves to take care of Guns and it makes no differens if there His or Family and Friends and they all know it so they bring Him there Guns to be taken care of .
this Book would come in handy should he run in to a problem .Thanks for the opertunaty.
As a former military member I clean ALL my weapons as soon as I get home from the range or after the hunt. Even while on the hunt, I have my rod and patches at the ready to at least clean out the powder residue if I have taken a shot, either at a buck or a sight in shot before the hunt begins (usually the day before the hunt begins). Uncle Sam makes you a clean freak when it comes to weapons. The irony here is that I spent 2 years as a unit armorer with the 3rd Armored Division’s 2nd Battalion, C Company 32nd Armor servicing .45’s, M16’s, M240 7.62mm machine guns, M2 .50cal machine gun, and even the ancient grease guns in .45 cal. It was a dream job for a gun nut like myself. I had all the latest manuals, diagrams, exploded views of all these weapons. While I never went beyond my level of dis-assembly I always paid attention when I had to take a weapon to the next level. I shoulda been a gunsmith. Thanks for letting me rant here. Good luck to all.
I hunt alot over salt water. I clean my gun after every hunt !
I would like to win this book. Iclean my guns ay the end of the season.

I clean it deeply twice a year or after an extensive competition. I field strip clean it each use.
I want to win the book.
As for cleaning, I rarely clean it due to low round count, but when I do clean it it’s usually due to needing to needing to make sure it operates properly for an special event, noticed it was dirty, fixing/upgrading a part, or competition.
I strip down and clean my shotguns twice a year: before the season and within a month after the small game season.

this book will help me with my older shotguns if they need repaired or major breakdown for cleaning
I clean my shotgun after i shoot it every time. one part compulsive, two parts wanting it to work when I need it to, and one pinch of the smell of hoppes no. 9 gets me a little hot and bothered….
I’m a vanishing breed it seems if I shoot it it get’s cleaned. If the weather is foul or the gun is in a dirty environment I’ll break it down to the major assemblies. A total dis-assembly down to the screws and pins at least once a year if not more. Rifle pistol or shotgun.
That’s my idea borne of training from Uncle Sam and my Dad as well as how I’ve trained my Wife, Daughter and Son. A copy of this Book would add to my library and help me with the other families shotguns.
Thanks for the offer.
I clean my guns at least once a month & more often after firing at targets & hunting. I would love your book on how to disassemble/reassembly, as I don’t know how to break down
my shot gun. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I should clean my guns more. I’ve got a Mossberg 500 that really needs it bad. I’d like to win this book.
Clean after every use or every 6 months which ever occurs first.
i most often do a complete teardown end of each season instead of waiting for the beginning of the next season.
I would like to win this book
I clean after use, but sometimes is a long wait between uses, probably should clean them on a schedule, at least 2x per year.
I clean my guns after each use. As a gunsmith, I usually am taking apart a shotgun two to three times each day. This book would be helpful with some of the rarer varieties.
I try to dissemble and clean my guns every time I go shooting, or once every couple of months, which ever comes first.
This is an excellent book to have on your gun table!
I take my shotguns apart everytime I shoot them. I would love to have this book to make sure I am doing it correctly and not missing something.
I don’t know how to take apart my shotgun for a good cleaning hence the need for the book.
I clean after each use.
I clean them as soon as I’m done hunting or shooting them and sometimes run a patch through them before I go shooting just to make sure there are no obstructions.I could really use the book to make sure I have cleaned them properly.
I clean mine after each time shooting at the range or after I return from a hunt (either home or camp).
Would like to win.
I clean my guns after ever shoot and after any time I have had them out for a hunt. A clean gun is a reliable gun….
I clean my guns after shooting them or taking them on a hunting trip. I feel like a clean gun will not let me down when I expect it to work if it is clean. Please enter me to win the Shotgun Assembly/Disassembly book.

I can really use this book. I have several of the shotguns listed, including a Saiga & usually clean them after each use.
I probably should clean mine more often but getting my beneli Nova Dang near takes a book so I would like to win this book to be able to do the right thing. HUA!!!
Never have
I do a lot of repairs, and I buy these guides everytime a new one comes out. The books are of excellent quality in keeping up with the latest in disassembly/reassembly of modern firearms. I would love to win one which would only mean one less to buy!
I’d love to win it. I have a double barrel sxs so anytime I look down it and it needs a cleaning
Twice a year. And a complete cleaning before hunting season.

Would be great to have this book.
I clean my shotgun thoroughly after each trip to the range. I just give it a general wipe down about once a month weather it needs it or not.
I’d love to win a copy of Shotguns Assembly/Disassembly 3rd Edition!
I really need this book. I’ve got 4 shotguns and really need this to take apart properly.
Unless I go shooting, I usually clean it once a month.
Also I would love the win the book. 🙂
I haven’t been shooting in over fifteen years. Life got in the way, and besides, here in Pelosi Land, the places to shoot have mostly dried up and blown away. I have to go over 60 miles one way, and with gas over $4.50 a gallon now…
Anyway, my Rossi Overland coach gun sits out next the nightstand when we’re home, so it gets at least wiped down with a silicone cloth every couple of days (I take the barrels off to do this – not much more to disassemble on this gun). I have a Browning Hi Cap I’ve never gotten to shoot. I take it out of its case and field strip it every couple of months, to make sure nothing has rusted or crawled inside, and to stay familiar.
It would be a great book to win. I clean my Mossberg after every shoot. It would be good to know how to get it apart and give it a deep cleaning.
Just inherited a Remington Model 17 pump shotgun and would like a book that might give me some info on it.
I give my guns a light cleaning after each use and a thorough at the end of the season.
I take my shotguns down every time i shoot a real bonus to have this book
I clean shotguns about every 250 or 300 rounds.
The last time I completely disassembled a shotgun is when I inherited an old Marlin Glennfield 12ga pump from my grandfather. It had been years (decades?) since it was last disassembled for a thorough cleaning, & the grease had hardened and was preventing the firing pin from moving. I almost didn’t get it back together, so I could really use this book!
I’d really like to win this book. I couldn’t tell you the last time I disassembled one of my shotguns. Let me rephrase that: I really NEED to win this book.
I’d like to win a copy of Shotguns Assembly/Disassembly 3rd Edition!
I would love to win this. I recently bought my first shotgun so I’ve only cleaned it once, when I first got it home; but I also plan to clean it monthly as I do all my rifles and hundguns.
I’d like to win it.
Mine are cleaned after each use, wiped after handling, and completely disassembled, inspected, and cleaned about every three months whether used or not.

I clean mt shotguns after every outing.
Would really like to win this book!!
I’d like to win the book. Then perhaps I’d clean my gun more often.
I try to clean my guns after every hunt or trip to the range… but nobody’s perfect, right? 🙂
I clean them every time I shoot them.
I would really like this book, as I clean may different ones, and this would be of great help to me.

Likewise, I clean mine after every use! I would like to win this book in a big way.
Almost every time I use it.
i’ld like to win the book. unfortunately i probably don’t clean my shotgun near often enough
I clean’m after every shooting session…a ritual with me…Thanks for the giveaway!
