According to Scott Wagner, author of Own the Night: Selection and Use of Tactical Lights & Laser Sights, “Officer demonstrates improper positioning of light, so that gun and sights are illuminated, rather than the target. Notice shadow on the target from the illuminated hand. This obscures a good part of the illumination field that could have been used to the officer's benefit, plus it puts the light directly in front of the officer's face to draw fire.”
