  1. My 1st concealed carry permit was in 1987 in Florida- To this day the most influential book I have read was “In The Gravest Extreme”. I have read several of his other books including “The Book”. I highly respect his perspective.

  2. Mas Ayoob has been my favorite defensive shooting writer since I was a kid. I hope I’ll get lucky and win his new book. It will be a great addition to several other Ayoob titles I already own.

  3. Every instructor I have trained with names Massad Ayoob as being a person they have learned a tremendous amount from. They suggest taking any course he offers and suggest I sign up early because they always fill up fast. I haven’t seen any of his courses offered since starting serious gun study but think owning his book would be a great opportunity to start learning his training methods. Please consider me as a candidate for receiving his book….

  4. I’d like a book and would like, even more, to meet Massad. Does he ever speak in the Norfolk, Virginia area?

  5. I resently got my CWL and I am new to firearm carrying and personal defence. His book would be great info. for me.

  6. I read his stuff on guns and shooting and I learn stuff, but I want to know when he is going to write something useful about growing a mustache? Come on man inquiring minds want to know?

  7. I just obtained my Texas CHL and would love to win this book. Being that I am new to concealed carry I am looking to learn every thing I can.

  9. Massad is a fun guy and a great Instructor! I’ve been to a couple of his Firearms Training Classes at Dunbarton. He knows the legal and the technical side of the firearms world. The sad part is he scaled back his Firearms training programs over the last few years. I often wondered if a certain weapons manufacturer in New Hampshire had anything to do with this decision.

  10. I like ANY book about guns, whether written well or poorly, though I particularly like those that are well written. Massad Ayoob writes unpretentiously and clearly labels his opinions as such, fully supporting them with good reasoning. My Last Wife won’t let me purchase any more gun books until I get rid of some of them. But, if I won one she couldn’t complain. Right?

  11. I have for a long time read Mr. Ayoob’s articles on self defense. His body of work speaks to not just the aspects that most people like to talk about and express interest in, but to those aspects that are less often addressed by gun magazine writers like the aftermath of a defensive shooting and the legal ramifications.
One of the other things I liked about Mr. Ayoob’s writings were the oberservations he’s made on some of the influential people in modern firearms literature. I’m particularly ford of his observations on Col. Charles Askins as a pioneer who probably would never have done well as a law enforcement officer today.

  12. I’ve read a few of his books and would like to take a class from him someday. Winning this book would be the next best thing!

  13. Prior to seeking a CHL for both my spouse & me, we sought Mr. Ayoob’s writings and commentaries available at the time. The insights and advice he’s offered have proven to be invaluable. This book would replace our torn and tattered version. Everyone preparing to defend themselves, in particular BEFORE the need arises, needs to have and read this book.

  14. I love Massad’s books! There is such a wealth of knowledge in an easy to read and understand style. This book is next on my list. It would be great to get it for free!

  15. Recently moved back to a reasonable state and looking forward to the option of carrying concealed… And “Knowing is half the battle” is more than just a cartoon saying.
(Plus, never turn down a good book! Gotta win!)
