While Stay Alive! Survival Skills You Need may not help you survive the holiday shopping season, it definitely addresses many other common emergencies you might encounter.
How long could you survive if any of these happened to you?:
- Your car breaks down on a back road – in the desert, or during a blizzard.
- While hiking, you take a wrong turn and get lost in the woods.
- While hunting, you follow a blood trail and can’t find your way back to camp before dark.
Dave Canterbury, co-host of “Dual Survival” on the Discovery Channel, has this to say about John's book:
I knew after reading John’s first book, Build the Perfect Survival Kit, that he actually gets it! I have always believed that if people understand basic concepts and the multiple uses of a few basic items they can greatly affect the outcome of a bad situation. This book does a great job of explaining, in simple, understandable terms, the basic skills necessary and simple items that can be carried in a small package to make a bad situation a whole lot better!
Come to think of it, maybe this book can help you survive the holiday shopping season – it would make a great gift for just about everyone! (Click here to order your copies now and get them in time for Christmas.)

I’d love to win the book and I do almost all of my shopping on Amazon.com because the prices always fair and you can easily compare tons of products and reviews.
Never buy gifts that you don’t want for yourself. This would be for me.
I would love to win this book. I got most of my shopping done earlier in the year.
Book sounds good, a must have for anyone who spends a lot of time out in the woods. As far as holiday shopping I do most of it online. When I actually go to retail stores I go weekday mornings since my work shift starts at noon.
Looks like an interesting resource and a great opportunity to possibly win a copy.
great giveaway. This will solve one of my gifts I have to get for someone.
I NEVER win anything, but this book would be awesome. I`m an avid white-tail hunter, and have become extremely interested in anything survival. From surviving during a hunt-gone-bad, to stocking up and preping for any disaster, and surviving the zombie attack sure to come following any type civil unrest. I read everything I can get my hands on.
Shopping on line is always good. This would make a great gift. Besides everyone should have an emergency plan in place, and this book would definitely help with that.
Looks like a great book to have. My best gift buying tip is a simple one, simply pay attention that person’s comments throughout the year and you will come up with something.
I would also like to win the book.I usually begin my shopping by doing a recon on the items I want to buy for everyone. Then make one stop on the stores and Im done.
I am hoping to win this book. I never buy online or through the mail–I always suspect they send the itmes not good enough to sell in person.
I would like to win the book. My strategy for buying gifts is probably about even with shopping online and in the stores. Shopping tip: Do not shop on black friday!! Avoid the Crowds!! lol
Stay Grumpy-the wife happily leaves me at home to do the holiday shopping….
I would love to win this book. My gift buying strategy is to have my wife do all the shopping.
I would love to win a copy of this book. As far as a gift buying strategy – well… if I can’t find it at either Mill’s Fleet Farm, my favorite gun shop (Hart Bros. Weaponry) or online, nobody needs it!
My shopping always ends up last minute. Even though I am a procrastinator, my last minute gift buying has more to do with trying to think of that perfect gift. Thanks for the giveaway. This book would make a great gift, but only after I read it first.
This describes my style too, so I finally learned to do what “frym” suggests, and jot down ideas throughout the year. Come holiday shopping season, it’s great to turn to those notes and have a list of “perfect gifts” at my fingertips!
that would make a cool for someone
Great book! I would love to win a copy! I try and shop local, and try to buy “Made In America” whenever possible. Take a day off early in the season and shop midweek to avoid crowds. I do buy some things online – but try and stay with U.S. companies and U.S. products.
I always buy items that I would want to receive as presents. That way if the person does not want it, I can keep it for my own use.
Very cool looking book. Buying gifts online works for me.
Cool Giveaway. For shopping I tend to shop online to avoid the Holiday crowds. If I can’t do that then I try to go shopping on a weekday to so that there is less people to compete with.
