Book Giveaway: ABCs of Reloading

63

Entries for the book giveaways have provided some great comments about the guns we know and love, and even more fun are some of the responses we get from the winners of the books. The winner last week had this to say (used with permission):

“Thank you very much. I have not won anything since I won tickets to an NFL game. The tickets arrived the day after the game.”

It seems we all have a story to tell about winning (or not). In my case, while everyone around me seems to win a nice gun at the various banquets we attend, I somehow always end up with yet another new cooler for my collection.

This week, we'll give away a copy of the recently-released 9th edition of The ABCs of Reloading, edited by C. Rodney James.

To enter, submit a comment below and answer the question, “What's the last thing you won?” Or, as always, you can simply say you'd like to win the book.

Entries will be accepted until midnight Sunday (Oct. 2), and we’ll announce the winner on Monday (Oct. 3).

Good luck!

In the meantime, check out Gun Digest Books' great selection of popular reloading titles, including:

  1. Last year I went on a quilt maker’s “shop hop” with my wife, and won the major Goodie basket door prize. I don’t sew, but do help her with building quilts.

  2. Well I finally got logged on if that counts for winning something. The most memorial thing I can remember winning was a new mossberg .22 rifle about 44 years ago when I was 15 or 16. I won it selling magazines and it RODE HOME with me from school on the bus. Yes it was planet Earth In the US of A, Taylorsville, Mississippi to be more precise.

  3. I do reloading and when ever I change to a new caliber I seem to need a reloading book for the proper charge. I think this book would be a great help.

  4. I do mostly woodworking and shooting pistols and revolvers.
We play the lottery every week and win about 1 1/100 of what we pay to play. Things should be looking up for us soon.

  5. At our teacher in-service training training three years ago I won a potted plant for my desk. It lasted almost the whole year, but my 9th graders finally destroyed it.

  6. i won a psyhydelic colored , stuffed alligater, at the 1976 w.va. state fair , at the age of 12. havent won anything since

  7. I WON the “POWERBALL” just a couple of weeks ago!!
Well, a $3.00 award anyway. I was also the lucky winner of a book from Gun Digest. Thank You.

  8. Never won anything in the way of contests before. I have won small amounts on lotteries. I am now entering more gun and fishing contests however because those are my favorite pastimes.

  9. The last thing I won was a set of tickets t a Rap concert ?? totally worthless as I don’t listen to rap and B I would have had to drive 70+ miles to pick them up. useful I think the only thing I have ever won was $1 on a scratch off ticket.

    • P.S. I’m Still waiting for Mr. Sayer to show up at my door with the PCH check , …I wonder if he knows my address ? Oh well, I hope he knows how to get here, SOON ! That Putz owes me BIGTIME !

  10. I have a bit of luck, I won a S&W pistol at an NRA raffle last year.
Like they say you can’t win if you don’t play.
    Let’s give it a whorl!

  11. The last time I won anything it was a $3 bottle of gun oil at a Missouri Shooting Sports Assoc. banquet in 2003.

The ABCs of Reloading would be a nice update to my aging collection of manuals.

  12. The last thing I won was a food processor. I gave it to my older sister. This would be a good book to win. It would make me feel more like a man.

  13. I won a Walther P22 at a Ducks Unlimited a couple of years ago. I thought I would trade it back in for a Glock at the Gun Shop that it came from until I handled it. The P22 is one sweet little gun. Never did buy that Glock. I ended up buying a Beretta PX4 Storm instead.

  14. The last thing i won was $250 on a slot machine 5yrs ago . So winning this book ( a must have for any gun owner ) would definitely break my cold streak .

  15. Have never won anything. It sure would like to win this book. As I’m trying to get started in reloading, it sure would be a big help of having one less thing to buy on a fixed income.

  16. I can’t remember the last time I won anything but I would love to win this book. I’m just starting to get back into reloading and would like to try some new loads.

  17. I’m 84 years old and still an avid shooter of pistol, rifle, shotgun, and a reloader. In all these years I’ve never won anything except once at Second Chance and in the good old days when I used to drive race cars I won one once in a while.

Have seen your book in the library . . . would sure like to own it.

    Jim

    • Thank you for taking that trip. You have the courage of a real American. That is something we are in dire need of now in this country. Thank You and all the Veterans of our wars for doing their part. Wake-Up America !

  18. The last thing I won was a hat from the NSSF in their current contest. Before that I got a package from Tom Gresham’s GunTalk with TWO hats (and some other items). A hat may be good on the range, but a book is good at home. 🙂

  19. I won a Playmate cooler about 25 years ago at a golf outting. Still have it to this day. I’d love to win this book since I plan to start reloading in the near future.

  20. The last thing I won was a pound of coffee-I don’t drink coffee so my wife enjoyed it. I do basic reloading and want to experiment with loads. This book would help achieve that goal.

  21. During the grand opening of a local gun shop, “cold War Shooters” I won a Mossberg 500 Road blocker 12 GA shotgun. I was a happy camper 🙂

  22. Just this week I won a week at a beach house in New Jersey for next summer.

I’m new to reloading and I can use all the help I can get!

  23. the only thing i ever won and received was steaming bean company’s mountain harvest drip grind coffee it was the best coffee i ever drink. i would love to win this book abc to reloading,i load rifle and shotgun 12 gauge 23/4 and 3″inche shells

  24. I won a portable car vac about 4 years ago, turned it on and it just about caught on fire. Needless to say it went into the trash right after that.
