Remington Versa Max Sportsman

Seeking to build on the popularity of their Versa Max line, Remington introduced the Versa Max Sportsman model in late 2012 and has additional offerings coming online this month. The shotgun employs the same reliable VersaPort gas piston system capable of cycling everything from 2¾-inch field loads to 3½-inch magnums. The receiver is made from mil-spec anodized aluminum and paired with a synthetic stock and a 4140 hammer-forged steel barrel with a ventilated rib. Barrel length is 28 inches and there is a black synthetic and full Mossy Oak Duck Blind camo version available. The latest black and Realtree AP camo versions boast 26-inch barrels and there is now a 22-inch Mossy Oak Obsession turkey version. ($1,025 black/$1,175 camo;
