Description

The Steyr Mannlicher Zephyr II is the rebirth of the original Zephyr rifle that was produced from 1955 through 1971. This new rifle takes cues from the original Zephyr’s quality, and also sets new standards in the bolt-action, rimfire rifle segment. It features a classic European walnut stock with a Bavarian cheek piece and fish scale checkering. The Zephyr II has a tang safety, detachable 5-round box magazine, and comes with a threaded barrel option for all calibers. The cold hammer forged barrel with Mannox finish make for tough, reliable design that will withstand the elements while out in the field.

I have 3 .22lr Steyr Zephyr II's. (from another vendor that had them in stock) They are great rifles. The stocks with their cheek piece and checkering are really unique. The metal is excellent also. I presently shoot mine at 25 yds. indoors and enjoy breaking thing drinking straws in half--with 75 years old eyes. They are great rifles--buy one when available.

At 6.9 lbs. with a scope, rings and leather sling, my Zephyr II is comfortable to shoulder in the field and forest all day long and not become uncomfortable. What really sets it apart is its accuracy, though. With Eley Club, SK Rifle Match and Wolf Match Extra, it can shoot .25-.50" groups at 50 yards from a simple sandbag rest when I do my part. The trigger is fantastic. The pics here really don't do it justice because the grain in the walnut stock is beautiful and far better than you'd expect for a .22 rifle. Overall, a big thumbs up. It's going to be a great performer in Critters Matches at my club this year.
